Journal Pavilion, Albuquerque, NM Wednesday, 16 August, 2006  Bullets and Octane: They were cool. Music wise just all right, but good stage presence and really played with a lot of energy, despite the fact that there weren't that many people at the venue yet. Bury Your Dead: Good band, a lot of energy, got the pits going early on. 10 Years: I was actually impressed with the way they sounded live. I thought they sounded great and put on a good show. Dir En Grey: I know there are alot of Dir En Grey fans, and I listened to some of their songs on the internet before the show and liked some of them, but I didn't really care for them live. Didn't really do it for me, although I watched them from up in the lawn, so maybe thats why. Flyleaf: I enjoyed the set by them. The lead singer has a really powerful voice for such a small person. They did a pretty good cover of "Something I Can Never Have" by Nine Inch Nails. Stone Sour: Great set! Went by way too fast. Corey is a great frontman. Same setlist as I've seen from other shows. Deftones: This is the main reason I came, because I am a huge Deftones fan, so I may be biased. But in my opinion they put on a hell of a show. Similar setlist from other shows aswell, but we got "Engine #9," "Headup," and "Bloody Cape," which I don't think they have been playing. They came on right when the sun was going down, got the crowd really into it. Alot of Deftones fans here in Albuquerque for sure, the pit area exploded when they took the stage. KoRn: This was my fourth time seeing KoRn, and they always put on an awesome live show. Opened with "Right Now" and closed with "Blind". Highlight was Chino coming out on stage with KoRn and doing "Wicked". I had never seen it before, and it was the highlight of the night for me. |
